Buy Rust Skins

No matter the reason for why you're looking for Rust skins, ItemAnalyst is here to help you find the information you need about all skins in the game. We will help you find your new favorite set, the cheapest sites to buy skins from, market trends on skin prices, and so much more.

Where do Rust skins come from?

The majority of Rust skins are designed by the community on the Rust workshop, and then added to the game by Facepunch weekly through the Rust item store. Once a skin is removed from the item store, it's very rare that it will ever be sold by Facepunch again so you will need to buy it from another player or third-party site. There have also been some skins designed by the Facepunch team themselves, usually for special occasions, and those are also sold through the item store.

Is it safe to buy Rust skins?

It's completely safe to buy Rust skins, your account or skins will never be removed from your possession. You do, however, need to make sure you're buying from a reputable source who won't try to rip you off. There are many sites that are considered legitimate, such as the Steam marketplace, Bitskins, and Skinport. You can also buy skins directly from other players you trust by trading with them.

What makes a skin untradable and unmarketable?

When a skin is bought from the item store, it cannot be traded to other players or listed on the Steam marketplace for a minimum of 7 days. After those 7 days have elapsed, most skins become tradable or marketable with the exception of exclusive skins for special events, such as Charitable Rust, Trust in Rust, Twitch Drops, and others.

What makes certain skins more expensive?

When skins are first released to the item store, the price is set by Facepunch for the week that it remains there. Once removed, the price is determined by supply and demand of the market, which makes skins that don't have much supply increase in value tremendously. The most expensive skins are those that have high utility (glow in the dark), did not sell many units during the release, or were removed from the item store before their time was up.
